Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991, is also known as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female to be signed by J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On October 21, 2016 Pho was released by her Her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she gained her first recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading music to the Internet in 2012 after she dropped her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Her uploads continued music on the internet in 2014, including her self-released single Bound. In July of 2015, she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. In the following year, her music circulated around the Dreamville team because J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. On December 8 it was announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. In the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. In October 21, 2016, she debuted her first EP named Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his single Change in the year 2017 and appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she opted to guest feature on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang with Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream hit stores on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a unreleased music videos. In November, she released the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. And on the 13th of November the singer released two new singles called No One as well as Pdigree. She appeared with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby, on November 16, and then made the track available in a solo version for the album she released her debut. In February of 2019 the music video was released to accompany the track. It's already received 3 million views on YouTube within its first week. In December 2018 she took part in The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
